I study populations, harness data, and think rigorously about the long-term trajectory of artificial intelligence. My work sits at the intersection of social science, computation, and the ethics of transformative technology.
Who I Am
I am a demographer and data scientist with a strong foundation in international affairs and quantitative social science. My career has spanned research institutions, government agencies, and cross-sector collaborations where I have led data-driven projects from conception to delivery.
"Demography is destiny — but data shapes which destiny we choose."
My philosophical interests have always leaned toward the future of intelligence: what it means for societies, for individuals, and for humanity's long-term welfare. This curiosity led me to pursue a Master's in Computer Science with a focus on artificial intelligence, complementing my quantitative and social-science background with formal training in machine learning, algorithms, and AI systems.
I am particularly engaged with the field of AI safety — the challenge of ensuring that advanced AI systems remain aligned with human values as they grow more capable. I believe that demographers, social scientists, and policy experts have a critical role to play alongside engineers and mathematicians in shaping the trajectory of AI.
What I Do
My work brings together multiple disciplines to address complex problems in population science, data analysis, and AI governance.
Demography
Population analysis, mortality & fertility modeling, migration studies, demographic forecasting, and applied demographic methods for policy and planning.
Data Science
Statistical modeling, machine learning pipelines, data visualization, and large-scale data analysis using Python, R, and SQL.
Product Management
End-to-end leadership of cross-functional research and data projects, stakeholder engagement, agile methodologies, and strategic planning.
Artificial Intelligence
Machine learning theory, deep learning, natural language processing, and building AI systems with a rigorous understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
AI Safety
Alignment research, interpretability, robustness, and the sociotechnical dimensions of deploying powerful AI systems safely and equitably.
Philosophy & Ethics
Political philosophy, moral philosophy, philosophy of science, long-termism, and the ethical frameworks needed to reason clearly about transformative technologies.
Academic Background
An interdisciplinary education spanning social science, computation, and policy.
